Wk 5 V Narangba Demons :
The Major A Pine Hills team had its first sweep of the season against Narangba winning 4-0 on both Friday night and Sunday games. On Friday night at Narangba Daniel Hartig pitched 5 innings for 7 Strikeouts and 2 Hits followed by 4 innings of relief by Riki Paewai,for 5 strikeouts and not giving up a hit. David Sutherland and Ryan Thwaites had 3 hits each, with Alan Schoenberger and Alex Naughton one hit a piece. The team showed more patience at the plate and an excellent fielding display produced a high quality game.
Sunday’s game was of equal high quality with Tom Surman pitching 7 innings , giving up no runs & earning the win. Luke Thwaites followed on the mound with 2 strong innings to earn the save. Spectacular fielding by Alan Schoenberger and David Sutherland were a feature of this game. Major B Grade fought out a very tense game losing 10-11. Strong pitching by Steven Hayes and Adam Webb The team made a great comeback after being down 8-0 after 2 digs, they briefly took the lead but unfortunately lost it the last innings. Major C tried hard but were overpowered by a strong Narangba outfit.

First audition and test for "Mechanical Mike" who is text-to-speech recognition software for our first game report.. Boring I know as he does not ad-lib and neither is he very funny... but he does work for nothing so we will give him a shot...............
